Howley Engineering - New Industrial Gearboxes

Howley Engineering have 25 years of experience in both manufacturing new and refurbished Industrial Gearboxes.

The Gearunits involved originate from many industries namely Steel, Cement, Sugar, Rubber, etc. and vary from plain Spur Gearunits, Helical units, Bevel / Helical Units, Planetary Units or Wormunits with unit weight up to 15 tonnes and transmitted output torque up to 120.000 daNm. A new Industrial Gearbox unit can be designed around the application parameters using AGMA, DIN or British Standards, making full use of available computer programmes, whereas a refurbished Industrial Gearbox would be upgraded to take advantage of the many improvements that would have taken place since original manufacture.

In all cases irrespective of whether the Industrial Gearbox is new or refurbished, if will always be test run in our workshop and this test run would be carries out under no load conditions at the actual service running speed. During the running the stabilised temperature, noise and vibration levels would be taken and recorded. This is very useful information when the Gearunit is site installed as a comparison.

Howley Engineering also provide skilled engineers to install and commission Industrial Gearunits either of their own manufacture or another manufacturer’s gearunit. All our site engineers are specially trained and passport to safety certified. We also offer service contracts, where Howley Engineering carry out inspection and routine maintenance of the gearunits on regular basis.
